Software AG and Bosch have formed a partnership to develop a range of new products, services and solutions for the Internet of Things (IoT).
The firms want to capitalize on the potential of IoT, an industry that’s expected to grow to massive heights over the next few years. Many expect it to become a trillion-dollar sector.
For Bosch, the partnership is a way for it to extend its already substantial IoT cloud user base. However, partners and customers of both firms will benefit from expanded IoT offerings.
New integrations for Software AG
Software AG’s popular Digital Business Platform will be integrated into the Bosch IoT cloud, becoming a scalable component that sports modules for real-time analytics to improve decision-making.
Data forms a big part of the Internet of Things, and often companies can struggle to make sense of it due to the amount retrieved from devices. The platform, the firms say, can help.
It’s capable of processing, analyzing and visualizing data 24/7, helping users develop better insight in a bid to improve business processes and decisions. Essentially, the firms’ strengths will shine through this partnership.

An open ecosystem
Both Software and Bosch want to create an open ecosystem for partners and customers, letting them benefit from the power of connected technology and solutions. For this reason, Bosch IoT cloud remains scalable.
It never stops processing information, which is handy for organizations that need to be constantly aware of the things affecting their operations and products.
At the same time, Software AG’s messaging integration module is universal and already being used by Bosch users. The solution bodes for seamless integration and operation of components within the IoT ecosystem.
But that’s not all, though. Bosch will also utilise Software AG’s line-up of data storage and processing products as part of its renewed IoT focus.
A partnership for the future
Dr. Volkmar Denner, chairman of the board of management at Robert Bosch, said: “As technology partners, we will be able to offer our customers innovative solutions with the Bosch IoT Cloud even faster and more efficiently than before.
Karl-Heinz Streibich, CEO of Software AG, said in a statement: “Our objective is to optimally combine the comprehensive expertise of Bosch as an innovation leader with our software know-how in the cloud market.
“With this step, we are also strengthening Germany as a technology hub with the goal of expanding its global leadership in IoT and Industry 4.0.”
